USPS Sucks, So Let Them Charge More!

Bookmark and Share
USPS jacked up the postal rates again this week, while they’re providing the worst mail service I’ve ever experienced in my life.  It makes sense though, John Donahoe (head of Ebay) has destroyed that company and Patrick Donahoe, the Postmaster General is killing the country’s mail system.  I think they’re Brothers.

It’s Bullshit that each time the rates go up, the big story is that the First Class stamp is up a couple more pennies, but meanwhile the cost of sending packages silently goes up 30% and the media never mentions it.  Even if you don’t ship a lot of things these crazy-ass-postage increases drive up the price of everything.

Last Saturday, my mail was left on my porch, and when I asked the carrier why, she said, “we were told if it is slushy not to climb steps.”  Really?  If my porch is has slush on it, the carrier is directed to throw my mail into the slush?  It’s not so much that I believe she was told this (though maybe she was!) but I’m more troubled that there would be someone handling my mail who is so lazy and stupid that she’d actually do that and then make up a ridiculous excuse like that.

Haven't seen one of these for years!

My porch was dry and the dog and I went running about an hour after the mail.  There was no “slush” anywhere.

Then on Monday morning (before I went to work), the carrier left me a notice that I’d missed being there for a package, even though I was there.  And she delivered my neighbor’s outgoing and incoming mail to my box.   Yes, she was so incompetent that she took mail my neighbor left to be mailed and delivered it to me instead.

Meanwhile there’s a package I’m waiting for from out of the country, and I can go to http://www.track-trace.com/post and see movement on it in the originating country, but for the last 10 days all usps.com says is “Origin Post is Preparing Shipment.”  I called and spoke to a moron who told me that there is no way they can give me an estimate of how long it should take, any additional information, or even tell me if 10 days of no updates is normal.

They’re talking about expanding into same day delivery of mail in some markets, while they can’t even do basic mail delivery.

USPS services are way overpriced and UPS, FedEx and other companies would do a much better job of it if the USPS goes down.  They can’t possibly do it worse.

      PICK UP CONFIRMATION# WEC107419404
      TRACKING #9405509699939943744132
Sent 2 priority packages to customers. One customer got the wrong item and the other is missing.See tracking# above.USPS carrier obviously opened both packages and stole the most expensive one($365) then forgot which label went to each package. At first the carrier forgot to pick these packages up so I called the local Postmaster to complain. She resent the carrier back out to pick these up.I noticed I didn’t get the pick up confirmation as usual so I called the PM again and one was finally emailed to me(see above). This is NOT the first time this happened.Back in January a brand new Ipod was stolen in the SAME fashion.I quit using the pick up service until this current mailing and wham! it happens again. The carrier obviously knows my Ebay ID(from first theft) and is following my sales.Postal Inspector is doing NOTHING.Smartly I wrote down the IMEI and serial number of the current missing phone and hopefully the police can track it’s GPS to the thief.I am going to try my best to get the local media involved.WILL UPDATE!

The USPS was forced by Congress’ radical right wing into overfunding their pension plan – makes the banksters that line the right’s pockets happy, and causes cash flow issues with the USPS.

Then, they weren’t allowed to compete.

Then, the Tea Party hucksters that the bankers commanded earlier for the USPS to keep open rural post offices that serve no purpose, other than to keep the 15 locals that live in Hooterville happy with a place to coffee klatsch. The people would have no issues with mail if there wasn’t a post office in every Bugtusle USA.

Finally, they are forced to give deals to Big Corporate mailers – operate below cost, at a loss, to cater to them.

The radical right wants only one thing – to shut down the Post Office, blame Obama (like they do for everything else) and then turn it all over to their buddies at UPS, FedEx, etc that’ll charge us $5 for a 1 ounce letter and sky high rates for packages – and you can bet Saturday Delivery will be an extra few bucks, too.

BULLSHIT THe USPS is run by incompetent turds many of which are lazy morons who blatantly ignore contracts and cost multi thousand dollar awards and still get promoted.

    2. Liberal killer

Shut the hell up. You liberals are so ridiculous.

      1. Drazet

Typical – no facts, just name calling and screaming ‘no’ like a toddler.

Let me guess – Tee Partee, right?

These incompetent f-tards lost my rent payment! There’s no one to complain to. Now I’m going to have to pay because a stupid shit can’t do the one job they have???? When I called to let my landlord know what happened…he told me they’ve lost two of his house notes and a car note!!! WTF USPS?!

  4. joe

Sent important letter to DMV in Springfield, paid extra to have it certified & signed for, was supposed to be delivered Thursday. That’s where the tracking ends & NO one at the postal service can explain why. Was told if I sent it express is the only gurantee…WTF !!!

  5. Ryan

Yep. I called the USPS today because I’ve been expecting a new Cell Phone in the mail. Well, it was suppose to arrive saturday, and it’s monday at 3:00 PM and no mail in my box, and I call to ask where my package is, and this moron woman on the phone was all rude saying that she isn’t a psychic, and that my package will arrive when it will arrive.

I was floored, How can they treat people like this?

  6. readthisshit

Since they (temporarily) lost out on cutting Saturday delivery, now they don’t want to deliver to your home at all!

If you’re moving to a newly built house, say goodbye to mail delivery at your door.

And if some House Republicans get their way, all door-to-door mail delivery will go away.

The U.S. Postal Service is marching towards a more “centralized delivery,” where residents pick up their own mail from clusters of mail boxes located in their neighborhood. Local postmasters are sending hundreds of letters to fast-growing communities, warning that cluster boxes will be the way mail will be delivered to new developments.

  7. donna

sorry but it’s Obama who is running this country into the ground and controlling USPS that sucks NOT Republicans.

    1. Terry

Republicans don’t call it sucking. They lick butt Never on Sunday.

  8. SR

Donna you’re as dumb and incompetent as the USPS if you believe that. Republicans, Democrats…. Both puppets….Both funded by private corporations…. Both on Foreign bankers payrolls… It’s all just a big charade!

Politics have absolutely nothing to do with an individual mail man doing his/her job to the best of his or her ability.

    Fucks sake.

The USPS has the overall worst customer service in the entire US… most unreliable mail service in the WORLD!

For example… I was expecting a package today… The tracking system even says “Scheduled Delivery Day: December 16, 2013″…

but like usual.. no package. Even though it’s already been overdue!

    Fuck the USPS!

Overpaid lazy incompetent pieces of trash!

  9. SR

Oh and one more thing… The US postal workers are literally the most overpaid people in the entire country!

They make over 20 dollars an hour!

Nothing about their job makes it WORTH 20 dollars an hour. Honestly… They get to sit on their asses eight hours a day, in a vehicle with central air and heat. They don’t have to deal with angry customers… Their not even liable for lost or stolen packages! There is nothing strenuous about delivering mail!

Why are these assholes making over 20 dollars an hour?!

It may possibly be the easiest job in the world…. they get generously overpaid for it…and yet still, somehow they manage to fuck it up!

    God bless the USPS!

  10. SR

Here it is the 17th …no fucking package….no update as to where my package is….

    But they’ve changed ‘Scheduled’… to ‘expected’…”Expected Delivery Date: December 16, 2013″

    Are you fucking kidding me?!

It’s now the 17th….why the fuck would you change such a minute detail….just the other day it was SCHEDULED DELIVERY DATE!!!

Not to mention it’s no longer the 16th! My package is coming up on 3 days late.

This was supposed to be 2-3 day priority… it’s now been 6 shipping days. If they don’t guarantee that your package will arrive in 3 days…why the hell do they charge you extra for 2-3 day priority? Why do they even call it 2-3 day priority?

    Fuck the USPS!

  11. Carl

In a lot of cases First Class mail is faster than Priority. Go to USPS.com and calculate a price and see that a 13 ounce package shipped to the same zip code costs $3.77 with next day delivery but ship it Priority mail and it will cost $5.60 and take 3 days to deliver. Who the hell designed this foolishness?

  12. Mical

Couldn’t agree with you more – they suck. Most the tards that work there (if you call it work) can’t spell, move at a “majestic pace” and couldn’t care if they delivered anything. Just there for the pension. Even their sofisticated tracking system is retarded. Perfect example – package shipped Dec 20th – 2 day priority mail – well today is 26th and nothing. Tracking system last update Dec 21st last seen in Philly. I could’ve walked faster. NEVER AGAIN… going to file claim w/Postmaster General (who’s probably illiterate too)

  13. Joew

USPS sux. My package shipped today. It’s in a town 250 miles away yet it’s tracking number indicates it won’t be delivered until Monday? WTF? Lazy morons.

  14. eric

The 2nd to last item I shipped with them was lost. The item I currently have in their system was sent via Priority mail 2 day from NY to NC. I was told it would take 2 days. Today is the 4th day and it is sitting in Charlotte NC. I figured I would give them another chance after the lost item which I lost $350 on, that was my second mistake. I am done with them. Shut them down for all I care.

  15. Matt

I’ve noticed this same bullshit in the past two weeks. Now if the 15′ walk to my front porch has any snow on it they not only refuse to deliver, but will not notify you and will put a hold on all future deliveries until you pick up your mail in person. Meanwhile, no issues with UPS and my papers still get delivered every day.

  16. Kyle

I’m having a package sent 2-day priority mail right now. The delivery started in Michigan and is being sent to myself in Pennsylvania (roughly 800 miles). The first day, my package was a couple hundred miles closer. Then, on the second day (scheduled delivery date), my package magically found it’s way to Reno Nevada! it somehow made it’s way over 2600 miles away on the west coast, and has been there for almost three days. I wasn’t even mad at first, i was impressed!

But now i’m trying to get in touch with someone to figure out what’s going on, and why it’s being kept in Reno, but USPS’s phone line is the most infuriating experience. i’ve had to tell the computer “Operator” half a dozen times, and if it tricks you into giving your tracking number, it gives you the current tracking info that you see on your computer and then hangs up on you. WTF?

UPDATE: i finally spoke to a customer service rep…. and WOW!!!! i explained that my package was going from Michigan to Pennsylvania, and somehow managed to get to Nevada. And she didn’t know where Michigan, Pennsylvania, nor Nevada were. She just told me that the people in Reno are still scanning the package, so she won’t open up a case file and that i should just wait another day or two.

I work in Ecommerce and have dealt with the USPS and their poor service for years. Their customer service reps, for lack of better terminology, are trained to give a limited number of unhelpful responses and nothing more. They are incompetent and lazy, to say the least. They ARE a government agency, so it’s to be expected. In my field, every single thing is prepared, and the last step left to the USPS is actually getting the package to the destination- we process, package, weigh, label and verify every single thing, and most of the time it all goes to waste because they end up losing or damaging the shipment anyway. Companies use them because they are the cheapest, but if you were to sit down and do the math of all the wasted shipping material, product, and replacement costs, it really isn’t that cheap at all. And to top it off, we often lose customers because of their poor service. I very much despise the USPS…

  18. Rob

Why are the postal employees at the office on a Federal Holiday (Labor Day) but not open? Oh wait, F*&$# ing unions. Triple time. At least take my friggin mail…***!!

  19. fan

    fuck them

because of the high prices I can’t buy vinyl records from you (US sellers) anymore (I’m from Europe)

If they wanted to kill the economy of small sellers on ebay, etc they couldn’t have donne better than this shit

  20. USPS is a bunch of morons

I’m going to apologize in advance for the venting and likely curse words … FUCK USPS. I’ve had a package stuck in LA ISC for a week now. I found the ISC # (not expecting any help but wanting to rip somebody a new asshole, honestly) (310) 337-8700 and this was the actual conversation:

Idiot: Uh yea it was in the system but its not there anymore.
Me: Oh so its at the local post office now? Maybe it just didnt update?
Idiot: No, its not at your loca post office its not in the system.
    Me: So its lost.
Idiot: No thats not what I said its just not in the system.
Me: Oh ok so where is it?
Idiot: I don’t know, it’s not in the system.
Me: Ok so using standard english vernacular, when you dont know where something is its FUCKING LOST.
Idiot: Ok yea you should call U.S. Customs

Still no idea where this package is but at least even Customs was sympathetic to my plight and agreed with the sheer level of stupidity that is USPS and offered to intervene if nothing updates in a couple of days.

    Seriously, USPS, you are idiots.

  21. USPS Retards

Maybe it’s a Pennsylvania thing, or maybe it’s a USPS thing, either way the label ‘retards’ is giving these so called workers way more credit than what’s due. A small post office in Midway, Pa has one person that works there, ok sorry SHOULD work there, not all the different people they send there are bad just most. Their lunch breaks are never shorter than 2 hours, how do I know, let me explain. Their car is parked beside the building and you can hear them talking behind the closed blind, it’s a metal blind, call it what you will bottom line is still the same: someone is there but it is closed. Went there today to mail something, first stop was at 12:20 pm, closed, ran some errands to kill time. Second stop, 1:15 pm, closed, sat there until 1:30 pm walked in and yep, still closed, yet I can hear the guy talking on his phone behind the closed and locked blind/panel, finally decided to go to the next town’s post office in McDonald, Pa, about 10 minutes away. They were open, but here’s the catch, something I think is awfully funny happening at a UNITED STATES post office…every time, and I mean EVERY time, I have gone there to mail something I pay cash, it’s just easier for me and it’s never a large amount, when I get my change I am given CANADIAN change….coin’s, just to be specific to all the low level intelligence USPS workers (the mass majority). Of course the bills…paper money, again to be specific…are American but the change (coin’s) are always Canadian!?!? AMERICAN post offices using CANADIAN coins?????? Is this some sort of scam? Does USPS not have to claim foreign money so they use it whenever possible so as not to use American money that has to be accounted for? Of course I have said something, nicely of course, and I get a blank stare from the person. I assume these are veterans since they are 99.99% of what USPS hires, do they suffer from shell shock? PTSD? Or just plain stupidity? Stupidity is my top choice, the other ‘issues’ are phony to begin with. Don’t like your job, going to “war”? Choose a different job or suck it up cupcake, see, simple solution.

Package tracking is laughable, even with Priority Mail. Seriously, dozens of times have clicked the Tracking Number for an order and USPS posts OUT ON TRUCK FOR DELIVERY with that day’s date… and it’s after 9:00PM…still posting OUT FOR DELIVERY…but no package. There’s always a BS explanation: My dog had an infected ear. I was almost in a car accident. My mom done had her new vinyl sectional repoed. My nails are now 17 inches long and it was a challenge to protect them and also deliver your package. My fiancé had a cat jump onto his shoulder from a tree, and I had to take him to The ER. ME TV rescheduled WHAT’S MY LINE? and I fell back into my depression. The Security Guard at Walgreen’s back-sassed me when he caught me opening corn chips to be smacking’ on ‘em to be seein’ they be super fresh. My pension update showed I was only going to get $170,000 when I retire and I know it’s $175,000. When I was thinking about Jamaica and their voluckscious jerk pork,, I stuck a finger up my nose and a booger bit it. My twins, Uniqua and Shaniqua found their baby daddy online and they be aksin questions. I caught Baby D’Andre playing with matches….Why don’t they just strap packages to possums with a picture of your mailbox lasered onto their eyeballs? Have lived and worked in The UK and Canada where the postal service is superior. The USPS is Light Years beyond EPIC FAIL. They plain-old just don’t give a s***. You know it. I know it. THEY know it.
